Freely inhabiting public space is a right acquired over time within democratic societies, and which, particularly in Europe, was taken for granted. The shock that the pandemic crisis brought to the free movement of people between countries and the various periods of mandatory confinement, but necessary to contain the spread of the virus, alert us to the privilege that we all have a responsibility to maintain and care for: free thought in the public space, be it of an artistic or political nature… if it is possible to dissociate them.
