Carnival organisations Across the UK have put together unique packages of activities and events for schools and the community for the new National Children’s Carnival Week – 12-18 July 2021. This celebration of Carnival will help bring back the magic of learning and play after a challenging year.

The theme for National Children’s Carnival Week is ‘Once Upon a Time’, which sparked children’s imagination by creating costumes and props that tell stories. Accompanied by dance and music, children developed an in-school or community celebration that provided uplifting experiences and enable children to reconnect through creativity.

Some schools have been working on carnival projects for the past few weeks.

Some are holding their carnivals this week.

Some are launching their carnival programmes this week which will continue in the summer holidays and in the autumn term.

Over the next week, the UK Centre for Carnival Arts will be sharing the activities and events of carnival groups and schools across the country via social media and amazing videos.
