No Skills Required, Get Involved in Social Music Creation!
We create technology and equipment which makes it possible for anyone to be involved in music and sound creation. Our key ambitions are inclusivity, participation and collaboration. We have a number of projects which fulfil our ambition to nurture positivity and bring people together.
Flock – a system of audio speakers which are worn as backpacks by members of the public. The speakers are lightweight, stylish, and ergonomic and each speaker houses technology which synchronises it with all the other speakers, so that it can act as one audio source in a pre-recorded, multi-source composition. As a walkabout, we can send out a large group of people wearing the speakers, guiding them through festivals or urban spaces. Each person is autonomous but integral, like starlings in a murmuration – a living and moving organism, created by individuals. As the flock moves through a crowd, the crowd is immersed in swirling soundscapes or a patchwork of beats and grooves. Flock is an uplifting and empowering social event which is accessible to anyone.
The Nºthing Factory – an outdoor, collaborative workshop using samplers and drum machines, like a digital drum circle. Each member of the factory has a sampler and a speaker. We develop our listening skills to create an immersive arena of beats and grooves. Bringing beats into the wild since 2020!
Sonic Streams – bring a theme to your parade or festival and invite your audience to contribute. Everyone has a phone…. why not make music together?
