Making Visual Art More Accessible by Taking It Out of the Gallery and in the Streets!

I’m Saziso, a freelance curator, cultural producer and consultant in visual and performing arts.

My curatorial practice is driven by collaboration and exploring new ways of curating and stimulating perceptive dialogues between artists and audiences through exhibitions and interventions.

In 2015, I founded The Anti Gallery, a mobile art platform focused on engaging art outside formal gallery environments. Since launching, the platform has delivered around 30 events, including exhibitions, performances, artist talks, artist residencies, film screenings and workshops for children and adults.

As a freelance curator and producer, I have worked on exhibitions and programming for and in partnership with several organisations throughout the UK and internationally, which includes Rough Trade, Sadler’s Wells, Nottingham Contemporary, New Art Exchange, Backlit Gallery, Threshold Studios, UK New Artists, Nuart Festival, Sheffield Museums, wallplay and Format International Photography Festival. In addition, I have been a visiting lecturer for BA and MA Fine Art students at Sheffield Hallam University and De Montford University.

My work has been featured in publications such as The Guardian, Hypebeast, ArtReview, Black Blossoms and Artplugged.
