Gary & Pel Live Action Cartoon

A glorious mishmash of Dance, Slapstick comedy and adventure!

Gary & Pel Live-Action Cartoon is a Cardiff-based outdoor performance company mixing slapstick comedy, dance, circus, and adventure. Performances are created using a ‘Non-language’ Vocabulary to ensure inclusivity to all languages and D/deaf audiences. We aim to create visually stunning stories through the set, costume, larger-than-life characters, and clear, concise physicality and movement. Our concepts feature colourful cartoon aesthetics for children and subtle adult humour for all the family to enjoy. We aim to capture audiences and brighten their day with interactive fun, laughter, and ridiculous escapades. Gary & Pel is an open and proud LGBT+ performance company and explores these themes through our family-friendly performances in a cheeky slapstick approach.

Created by award-winning performer and director Alex Marshall Parsons, Gary and Pel have been commissioned by Articulture Wales (CarCrash Wedding) Coreo Cymru, Green Man Festival, Festival of the Sky (Honeymoon Balloon) and funded by the Arts Council of Wales and have performed throughout Wales and England on various tours; Green Man Festival, Festival No.6, Festival of fools, Appetite Stoke, Hastings Battle festival, Tilt Festival, Festival of the sky, Salisbury International Arts Festival, Spare Parts Festival, Oldham Festival, Wales Millennium Centre, Machynlleth comedy festival, Newport’s Big Splash & Swansea Dance Days.
