Absurdly silly physical comedy

Laura and Holly first met in the smoking area on our first day of drama school, both attempting to appear cool and relaxed whilst chugging at top speed on cigarettes to abate first day nerves. We knew it was love.  Several years later we found Cecily perfecting her dissolving sugar cube act in La Grande Salle of Lecoq in Paris; we invited her into the fold.

As individual performers we have each worked with companies from The RSA and Mischief theatre to touring internationally in street theatre shows. After a decade of friendship and a shared desire to take control of our careers and make our own work, we decided join forces and founded Fever Birds.

Holly and Cecily have both trained for 2 years at Lecoq in Paris and Laura’s prolific involvement with improvisation as a performer and teacher has given the 3 of us a shared love for physical comedy and storytelling.

After a year  of planning and several set backs due to Covid, in the summer of 2021 we devised our first show, The Campers and performed at Shaftesbury and Salisbury Fringe with great success. This has lead to receiving further development funding and touring support from artist support scheme, Applause.  We’re thrilled and excited to embark on this new chapter of our careers.

About The Campers:

Cindy and Judith have set off on their annual charity work do, and this year, they’re camping for conjunctivitis. They’ve found the perfect pitch and are impatiently awaiting the arrival of Mary, their manager (and friend) only to find out she’s stuck in traffic and won’t be arriving any time soon. To make matters worse, she has all of Judith’s camping equipment and snacks in her car.

Judith, who already misses the comfort of the city, is forced to rely on the strained generosity of the practical and prepared Cindy, who is somewhat reluctant to share her carefully planned rations.

In an attempt to make the most of the situation, the ladies go rambling across the heavily privatised countryside where they encounter feisty land owners and a rampant bull.
The farcical events unfold through a blend of physical comedy, vegetable puppetry and 90’s pop classics.
