Driveabout Projection

Projection Vehicle with a Weatherproof Glass Roof & Chalkboard Paint Job for Illustration

DRIVEABOUT Projection is a crowd-stopping, ex-military customised vehicle, which is self-powered and infinitely flexible. This vintage VW LT35 was recently imported from mainland Europe & it’s most popular uses over the last 10 years include Projection-Mapping, Mural Canvas, Guerrilla Marketing & Outdoor Cinema & Performance…separately or all at same time.

Originally a mobile radar tower, this makes it perfect for Video Projection outdoors, also a secure base for Lasers & Lighting, ideal for health & safety requirements. Currently submitting to Light Festivals as a park-up interactive Projection Mapping installation called SpaceGENDER & other creative responses to briefs.

SpaceGENDER is an inclusive interactive, video-projected installation, that audibly amplifies LGBTQIA+ communities & gender identities in a fun & playful way that is friendly & accessible to all. The van not only creates a fun focal point, but provides security overnight for installation & weatherproofing of the projector when mapped.

Expected to make an appearance at one of this summer’s largest festivals in UK as a Chalk Mural Graffiti Wall, illustrated freshly each day, illuminated with UV lighting at night. Ideal for fields that are packed full of people as less issues this vehicle will be pushed over easily, due to it being 3.5 tones hence the model name suggests VW LT35.

At the End of 2022 the van was featured in Music Video by Müslüm a popular Swiss music artist called “Popaganda” as a parting gift to its homeland. Currently 40k views on the artists channel, its a tongue & cheek video about cultural diversity that’s become wildly successful.  Video shows cheerleaders with flame throwers standing on the roof, a singer emerging from smoke filled vehicle & it being driven around a warehouse by body-popping men in boiler suites.

Owned & operated by Shaun PRICKIMAGE who created WALKABOUT Projection that was featured in Don’t Think, the 2012 film of a live performance by Chemical Brothers. In addition to light installations at Light Festivals & prestigious Galleries, Shaun also performs live visuals on main stage led screens at UK’s biggest clubs & music festivals. Including over last few months Printworks, Warehouse Project, Here Othernet. Also holding resident VJ position for all major events for Defected Records label.
