Longton Carnival & Pig Walk (Programme Announced), Longton
Apr 21, 2024

Longton Carnival & Pig Walk Parade is back for a second year and is taking over Longton Town Centre. The Strand and Longton Exchange will have a packed programme of free entertainment from 11am. Family fun fair rides, food stalls, face-painters, free stages, circus performances, and the famous Pig Walk Carnival Parade!

Throughout the day, Gladstone Museum, home of the Potteries Throw Down, will be open free of charge all day, with family entertainment that tells the history of Longton. You can book exclusive factory tours of the historic Duchess China 1888, a key white-ware producer in England.

The parade celebrates the story of John Aynsley or ‘Grandfather Aynsley’ who raised the money to create Queen’s Park and build Longton Cottage Hospital by driving a pig through Longton. A huge parade band, giant puppets and community performers will fill the Strand. Not to be missed!
