Without Walls: Festival Access Training, Manchester

19 January, from 11:30am to 5:00pm, at the International Anthony Burgess Foundation (3 Cambridge St, Manchester M1 5BY).

This will be a practical training session to empower festivals in making their events more accessible as well as putting together plans for connecting with their Deaf, disabled, learning disabled and neurodivergent audiences.

This session will include:

  • A refresher of how to make your event more accessible, looking at barriers that festivals might face (budget, capacity, resources, etc.) as well as creating points of action based on the Without Walls Accessible Festivals guide. – a copy of the guide will be available for you on the day, but we recommend you read it ahead of time. 
  • Examples from outdoor festivals around community-led activities and approaches to reaching a diverse audience.
  • An overview of requirements and considerations when programming Deaf, disabled, learning disabled and neurodivergent artists.
  • Examples of organisations and strategies to make your events more visible for diverse audiences
