Light Night Leeds is one of the UK’s largest annual arts and light festival, transforming the city centre into an extraordinary illuminated playground over two nights each October.

Since its beginnings in 2005, the festival has grown and now welcomes over 200,000 visitors across the city over two nights. The festival brings together local, national and international artists to present an ambitious programme of artworks that explore aspects of light in some of Leeds’ most recognisable indoor and outdoor spaces.

From spectacular large-scale projections and immersive installations to interactive artworks and unexpected encounters, Light Night Leeds invites audiences to experience the city in a new light. The festival transforms familiar streets, buildings and public spaces, creating opportunities for people of all ages to discover and enjoy art in surprising places.

Free and accessible to all, Light Night Leeds celebrates creativity, brings communities together and showcases the city as a vibrant cultural destination. Supported by Leeds City Council, Arts Council England and a range of local and international partners, the festival continues to develop ambitious artistic collaborations and bring extraordinary experiences to the heart of Leeds.
