What is this course about?

This course charts the life-cycle of the employment relationship from recruitment, through line management and appraisals to dismissal, redundancy and exit interview. It clarifies the law and offers an opportunity to explore good practice and the promotion of staff well-being. In the aftermath of the pandemic, it will look at the ways in which the working world has changed and explore the adaptations to new ways of working and how to manage expectations and morale. It is an interactive course combining practical and legal materials with discussion, peer learning and problem-solving.

Approach

Through the trainer’s presentation and group discussions and exercises, the day will be split into 3 sessions covering appraisal, retention and dismissals.

Trainer

Charlotte Jones is the Chief Executive of ITC. She trained as a lawyer and has many years experience of negotiating contracts and representing ITC and its members to funders, supporters, politicians, the press and media, development agencies, and the wider creative and cultural sector.
