OAUK Winter Webinar: An Introduction to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion with Tonic
Mar 6, 2024

Please note that this session is exclusively for OAUK Members only – join OAUK now to benefit. The session has a maximum capacity of 30 due to the interactive nature of the session. Should all these places be taken quickly, OAUK have provisionally booked a second date with Tonic.

Delivered by Tonic and crafted specifically for arts and cultural organisations, this training is for people at the outset of exploring equality, diversity and inclusion, or who are keen to fill gaps in their existing knowledge. Using examples specific to the arts and cultural sector to illustrate points and deepen understanding, the training seeks to dispel common misconceptions about equality, diversity and inclusion and embolden participants to make real change at work.

What will be covered:

  • The core principles: what the terms ‘equality’, ‘diversity’, ‘representation’ and ‘inclusion’ mean; how they differ and how they interconnect
  • The creative, social and financial benefits of diversity work within arts and culture
  • What this means practically for you as an organisation
  • What needs to underpin equality, diversity and inclusion-related change for it to be successful
  • Key things that anyone working in an arts or cultural organisation can do to create equality, diversity and inclusion-related change
  • Safe space to ask questions

You’ll come away with:

  • An understanding of the core principles around equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Confidence with language and terminology
  • Practical tools to make change happen in your organisation
  • Further ideas on areas specific to your work in which these tools may be applied to drive a positive change
