Theatre Illumiere are a street theatre performance company based in Newcastle in the North East of England.
We aim to create spectacular walkabout performances using puppetry, circus, mime and music.
Having performed internationally since 2005 as The Living Statue Company and The Human Hedges we aim to continually grow our work – to create joyous enchanting engagements in the most unexpected of places.
In 2019 we were commissioned to create The Living Lamp Posts: an ornate display of moving light and colour. Performed on stilts with a specially created spoken language the Lamp Posts have charmed at events across the UK and internationally.
In 2022 we received funding to create The Living Fossil Company. Through partnership with South Tyneside Council and Arts Council England we designed and built a range of living fossils – huge Jurassic Puppets where the museum comes to life.
As we grow and perform with our existing acts we look to create new work through ongoing partnerships and new alliances.
