Murmuration Arts

A participatory arts organisation with over 16 years experience delivering community engagement projects

Murmuration Arts focuses on projects which adopt a co-creation approach – we create collaboratively with communities. We connect with and build community through street theatre, site-responsive performance, participatory dance, music, reminiscence sessions, intergenerational workshops, cooking together, sharing stories, oral history projects and craft activities.

Our current projects:

Nightlight Lullabies – a performative, light and sound installation. Write a Lullaby for your city / town with local parents, listen to it played from our Crescent Moon, see our Visual Vernacular film inspired by research with parents who are deaf, hear the voices of local parents in our sound design for our giant child’s mobile. Listen to our Podcast – The Mothers Voice.

The Owl and The Pussycat – based on Lear’s poem, with originally composed music, a 2 person street show that can be performed on land or a boat!

Wyld Mothers Firea unique nature connection community concept. A space created by mothers, for mothers. We meet as our ancestors did, around a fire, connecting with other mums in our community. It provides a sense of connection to the earth, opportunities to listen to one another, and the opportunity to share stories and experiences as a community raising children together.
