Illustrator in Love with Colour, Nature and the Seaside

I’m an illustrator/writer that creates artwork and events for children and families to enjoy. My illustrations are bright and bold, I love infusing humour and storytelling into my work. I frequently use nature and heritage as a jumping off point, and love exploring myth, folklore and legends.

I have over 15 years’ experience working in education, as an LSA and as a Creative, regularly running workshops for schools and the public. I have an established relationship with Kirkleatham Museum where I often deliver with my frequent collaborator, writer Carmen Marcus. We create bespoke events, building our creative workshops around exhibitions. Frequently combining art, literacy, and STEM elements, drawing on local heritage and environmental themes. Our current project celebrates 200 years of the RNLI. and involves a research phase resulting in workshops for the public and schools, and the production of an exhibition co-created with Carmen Marcus following the story of a Lifeboat call out.

A well as working directly with families, I produce illustrations to enrich festivals and can design illustrations for use on promotional materials. For example, I was commissioned by Stellar Projects to create a park trail consisting of a series of 7 illustrations with a wordless narrative, and activity sheet. Families were encouraged to follow the story and identify the wildlife they see within the illustrations.

In May 2024 I was granted a place on Creating Outdoors a Training & Development program with Periplum CIC. In February 2024 I was awarded a bursary to take part in 3 days of development with Bamboozle Theatre Company, creating learning experiences for children with Autism.

I licence a range of greeting cards and prints online, and have a mini shop in Saltburn’s Creation venue.
