Hijinx is an award-winning, inclusive theatre company based in Cardiff, Wales.
All our productions include performers with a learning disability and/or autism, as well as performers without.
To support our work, we have a network of Academies around Wales that train learning disabled and/or autistic performers in a variety of skills. We provide this training because it is virtually impossible for an actor with a learning disability to access more traditional drama schools or universities.
When ready, students from our Academies join us on our professional productions, such as our Street Theatre shows. This ensures that our work is always of the highest quality, with all artists starting the process on an equal footing.
Our Street Theatre repertoire has expanded dramatically over the last few years, and we tour to festivals across the UK and Europe. Recent festivals include Green Man (UK), Llawn (UK), Glastonbury (UK), Machynlleth Comedy Festival (UK), ALLES MUSS RAUS! (DE), Escena Mobile Festival (ES) and Scenes de Rue Festival (FR). We also host our own inclusive festival – Hijinx Unity Festival – in Wales on a biannual basis.
