As part of 101 Outdoor Arts’ annual Summer School programme bringing leading European outdoor arts companies to the UK, Compagnie ADHOK will lead a five-day intensive workshop to develop and explore your ability to create a language with dance and theatre in public space. ADHOK’s co‑founders, Doriane Moretus and Patrick Dordoigne, have each shaped the art form for over three decades — this is a rare chance to work closely with artists operating at the very top of their field.
Over the course of the lab you will explore movement and create choreographies while developing skills for integrating artistic ideas into outdoor locations, diving into the characteristics and practicalities of different sites and types of project – learning to choose the right spaces for performance. You will learn how to work and guide the natural movement of audiences to create powerful promenade performances. The week will culminate in a large group outdoor performance of the theatrical choreographies developed throughout the workshop.
