Winter Lights (Postponed), Canary Wharf
Jan 19, 2022 - Jan 29, 2022

Statement from Winter Lights: We’re sorry to announce that, as several of our international artists are unable to travel to and from the UK due to current COVID-19 restrictions, we’ve taken the difficult decision to postpone our Winter Lights event. We look forward to bringing you our award-winning family festival next winter.

Award-winning Winter Lights in Canary Wharf will return in January 2022 for the seventh year.

Once again Canary Wharf will be transformed by over 25 spectacular light installations, leaving the dark winter evenings aglow. The spectacle will showcase stunning illuminated installations by some of the most innovative artists working in light art today from across the globe including the UK, Spain, Germany and The Netherlands.

This year discover a family of mammoths in Harbour Quay Gardens, stunning projection work bringing a greenhouse to life in Jubilee Park and twelve illuminated swans performing a mesmerising ballet in the dock.

You will also have an opportunity to see some of our favourite light art from our permanent collection such as Bit.Fall by Julius Popp and Captivated by Colour by Camille Walala.

As well as the stunning artwork, there will also be pop-up food markets serving delicious street food and hot drinks along the way. Don’t miss our fire pits in Jubilee Park where you can toast gourmet marshmallows from The Marshmallowist.  Alternatively, warm up with a hearty meal or cocktail by booking a table in one of the many cafes, bars and restaurants at Canary Wharf. We recommend booking early as it can get very busy during the event.

Winter Lights is free to visit, simply download the map to help guide you around the installations. The map will be available to download from January or you can pick one up from our friendly event stewards when you arrive.

The installations will be open from 5-10pm daily. Please note, the event can get extremely busy at weekends and our peak times (6-8pm) so we advise you try and visit outside of these hours if possible.
