Winter Droving, Penrith
Oct 29, 2022

The Winter Droving Returns! It’s been three unavoidable years in the waiting, but the torchlight procession is BACK to round off this, the 11th year of music, masquerade and magical carny feels.

That’s right, this October the Winter Droving will return better than ever. There will be food, there will be music, there will be a parade! It’s everything you’ve missed and more!

It’s time to get creative with your mask making

2022 is gearing up to be our biggest year yet. There will be Art, Music and Culture. There will be Street Performers, Stage Performers and Musicians.

The event is a celebration of culture and community within Penrith, bringing together people from a variety of backgrounds to immerse themselves in the unusual, the beautiful and the wondrous.

This year we are working hard to put together a programme of events to rival all other years, but what we really need is you. The Droving needs drovers!

We encourage people to come along on Saturday 29th October, stalls will be open from late morning, with more acts, music, street performers and of course, the torchlight procession, taking place throughout the day. As usual, the event will be located in the town centre and around the clock tower, and, as usual, we will be looking for people to help out. So watch this space!

WEAR A MASK!!! a fun mask!!!

Created by Eden Arts, The Winter Droving has become one of Cumbria’s iconic cultural events seeing 20k+ attend annually. The event has grown exponentially with audiences making the journey from all corners of the UK.
