The Leioa Street Artists Fair, organized by the Leioa City Council, will celebrate its XXIII edition and will do so with a powerful program that will bring the performing arts to each of the streets and squares of the municipality.
Umore Azoka Leioa has established itself as the showcase for artists who bet on the street as a space for creation, since more and more state and international companies are choosing Leioa to show their work for the first time. In fact, this year a total of 550 applications have been received (14% from the Basque Country, 56% from the State and 30% international) to participate in the Umore Azoka. These are figures that are exceeded every year.
In total, there will be 43 companies that will pass through Leioa this 2023, which will offer 90 street shows. It is worth noting the great diversity of disciplines that the program covers, with dance, theatre, circus, performances, clowns, itinerants, installations and music of all kinds.
