The 8th year of the T100 festival is upon us and this year, T100 People invites everyone to come together to celebrate Thurrock’s key workers and community!
Taking place from the 2 – 25 June, T100 People will feature a series of events, walks, talks and community celebrations along the Thames Estuary. This year’s T100 festival will feature The Thank You Dance – a section of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant that will be on The Mall on the 5th June, created by and featuring people from Thurrock itself!
The Thank You Dance has been created by Kinetika and features multigenerational participants drawn from across Thurrock, including inspirational key workers from the local area. The Thank You Dance will be a spectacular, visually stunning and animated movement section of the pageant with hundreds of performers adorned in colourful hand-painted silk. Seven key workers from Thurrock have had their portraits and stories showcased on silks, which will appear as part of this section, celebrating the hard work they, and others in their sector, do for the local area each day.
Each T100 People event on our programme will recognise key workers, the sector they work in and the values they uphold, with The Thank You Dance returning home to Thurrock as part of the T100 finale on the 25 June.
