Eastbourne’s Summer Sundae is coming to the Plaza at the Devonshire Quarter this July! Each Sunday this free event will be serving up perfect music mixes alongside a pop-up bar, street food, table tennis! A different DJ will play live every Sunday and there will be interactive theatre, puppetry and family-friendly comedy in front of The Towner Art Gallery & The Congress Theatre.

Sunday 24th July – 12pm until 5pm
Joe Garbett Dance: Dance

Enter Edem: Comedy Cavemen
A posse of Palaeolithic cavemen characters causing mischief and spreading an environmental message. This team of toothy trouble makers will have audiences laughing and running to the recycling bin as they tell the tale of their time spent frozen in ice to be awoken into a world of plastic problems to be solved.

Beautiful Creatures Theatre: Rat Choc Chip
A very funny new walkabout performance from Beautiful Creatures Theatre. Be charmed by the lovable and haphazard ice cream vendor, help with her desperate attempts to keep her furry friends out of sight of the health inspector, and see if you can tell the difference between chocolate sprinkles and well, let’s just say, little rodent ‘gifts’! The performance will wander about your event, finding opportunities to entertain and disgust your audiences with this hilarious and engaging show.

Dizzy O’Dare: Dodo Rider
Walkabout, roaming show by Dizzy O’Dare.

Rust & Stardust: Tweethearts
A wonderful puppetry tale to delight all ages. When Miss Maisie and Miss Daisie have to close the Sweethearts Tea Room, the birds who live in the eaves and feed on leftover cake decide to open for business as usual. Mayhem ensues as Wren and Sparrow battle baking, fight with flour and tinker with tea leaves – and deal with some very cross customers!

Nearly There Yet: Flying Bazazi Brothers
This heady mix of celebrity, circus and family history steeped in tradition is a real one-off. The Bazazi Brothers style is part Cirque du Soleil, part Tom Jones – with a little Swayze thrown in for good measure. This riotous double act, dance, juggle, and fall over each other for your viewing pleasure and features internationally renowned superstars Edward and Kaveh Bazazi.

Sunday 25th July –  12pm until 5pm

Beautiful Creatures Theatre : Bell Orchestra
Bell Orchestra is an interactive musical game for families, that invites audiences of all ages to come together to play beautiful melodies on a set of
giant chimes. Guided by performers the participant percussionists follow patterns and improvisational instructions to strike the chimes with their beaters.

Bootworks Theatre: JukeBoxes
Two beautiful 1950’s Jukeboxes sit side-by-side. Watch them spring to life as two performers (hidden inside) re-create classic pop music videos in a lip-syncing musical medley. Using props, masks, puppets and a terrible selection of wigs, the kitsch duo bring to life some of our favourite celebrity pop-stars from past and present.

Frolicked: SEEING RED
A storytelling/puppetry show that is a modern reworking of the classic fairy tale Red Riding Hood. Seeing Red tells the tale of a girl who learns how to take matters into her own hands and become master of her own fate.
