Nightfall is a magical outdoor event for families at Stewart Park in Middlesbrough where 20,000 people come together over 4 nights to follow a trail of colourful and engaging light artworks complemented by music, storytelling and performance.
Now in its 4th year visitors experience playful and colourful light artworks. Inspired by the colour, myths and magic of this amazing natural phenomenon, the familiar landscape and features of the park will be transformed by national and international light artists.
The aim for Nightfall is to create a joyful atmosphere of connection and shared experiences, a place for coming together to make memories during the long dark nights of December. As the trail comes to an end, visitors enter a dwell space where they can listen to live music, participate in hands-on workshop activities, take a break and share some warming refreshments with their friends and family.
