Mela in the City is back this summer!
NE1 are delighted to be working in partnership with Newcastle Mela to bring Mela in the City back for 2021. The celebration will offer dancing, music, free children’s activities and arts to visitors around Grey’s Monument and Blackett Street. Expect Bhangra dancers and Dhol drum players, henna painting, live performances from British Asian Singers and more…
The Mela is a free event, based around Punjabi, Pakistani, Bengali and Hindi and other South Asian cultures, and is open to anyone who wants to learn more, be entertained and meet new people as well as enjoy different music, art and food in Newcastle.
