Things are about to go Bam-BOO! at Birmingham Botanical Gardens…
This October, forget plastic pumpkins and throwaway scares – Halloween is going wild.
Bring the family to Birmingham Botanical Gardens for Bam-BOO!, a playful celebration of bamboo, nature and all the weird and wonderful things the natural world can do.
Discover nature’s tricks, treats and seriously impressive superpowers as you build, play, explore and get hands-on with one of the planet’s most extraordinary plants.
From the minds and work of Brilliant Bamboo CIC:
The Giant Bamboo Marble Run
This isn’t a marble run you simply come and play with – we’re building it together!
Meet our brilliant builders, Bam & Boo, and help them create an ever-growing GIANT marble run using lengths of real bamboo.
They’ve been busy experimenting, building and causing a little bam-boo-zlement around the Gardens and now they need your help!
Build it, test it, change it and add to it. Create new routes, try out different ideas and discover what works – and what sends your marble flying completely off course!
Bamboo Broom Making and Wacky Witches and Wizards
Need a last-minute costume piece or a brand-new broom? Make your own bamboo broomstick, then put it through its paces in the Gardens!
Once your broom is ready, join Bam and Boo as they lead a series of wonderfully wacky races and team games. Will you build the fastest broom, the nimblest broom or the one with the most magical moves? Race your friends, meet fellow witches and wizards and see who can sweep away the competition!
Created by NoFit state:
Meet Bo
And then there’s the other Bo…
Standing at an incredible 13ft tall, Bo is a giant bamboo and willow puppet who loves nothing more than dancing, shaking her hips and meeting new friends.
Keep an eye out for Bo as she roams through the Gardens – she’s pretty hard to miss and makes for a brilliant photo!
