For OutdoorArtsUK 2023: Reconnect, we are offering two different types of bursaries.

The first is a newcomers bursary, designed to help any early career outdoor arts people attend the conference. We’re happy for you to define what ‘early career’ means. If you do apply for this bursary, you’ll be expected to attend an ‘introduction to the sector’ session on the afternoon of Wed 1 Feb.

Alongside the newcomer’s bursary, we are also offering a small number of bursaries to help with financial access to the conference. You might use this bursary to help towards childcare costs for the event, or towards any access-related care that you might require. Again, we’re leaving this up to you to let us know why you’d like the bursary and how it will help you attend. Knowing this, on our end, helps us understand all of the potential considerations that ‘access’ can mean for our future events.

With both bursaries, you receive:

  • A travel contribution of £125
  • Conference Dinner (Wed 1 Feb)
  • One night’s hotel room & breakfast (Wed 1 Feb)
  • A ticket to the conference

If you’re applying for the newcomer’s bursary, we’ll have a small programme of events on Wed 1 Feb designed to help you get the most out of the conference main day.

The selection will be made by OutdoorArtsUK and we will be aiming to have a regional spread from across the UK. We welcome applications from all levels of the sector. In the spirit of broadening the world of Outdoor Arts, we’re also interested in welcoming people from carnival, mela, light nights, disability arts and the LGBTQ+ community – so please use the application to indicate that you have an interest in a particular area.

If you have any questions, please contact OAUK General Manager David via email at David@outdoorartsuk.org.
