A giant moveable puppet will lead a procession around local parks and community spaces surrounded by performers in flamboyant costumes playing percussion and singing. Together they will gather audience members as they go. Once the puppet stops parading, it’s time for the story, and everyone will be welcome to sit around the puppet and hear its tale. A secret performer will take the audience by surprise as they burst out from inside the puppet! Then the three performers will create a show which is dynamic in movement, music, and visual spectacle. This will be a fun, sensory and interactive show for all ages.
This tale will tell us the origin story of the giant puppet, an epic journey of adventure and self-discovery which shines a light on the different stories and voices of the world, celebrating the diverse diaspora of Greenwich borough. The story will inspire audiences to reflect on our own lives and consider how we all grow richer not by the things we own but by the life experiences we have and the friendships we make. The audience will then be activated to share their own story via a craft activity and contribute to a growing community installation.
