Sadly this event is cancelled due to illness.
Kamishibai, (kah-mee-she-bye) or “paper-theater,” is said to have started in Japan as street theatre in the late 1920s, but it is part of a long tradition of picture storytelling, beginning as early as the 9th or 10th centuries
This Making It workshop will open the door to creating short stories that mix illustration with narration in vivid and imaginative ways. You will be shown the skills and stages to create a kamishibai story and then present it in the kamishibai theatre-style box.
