Outgoing Chief Executive of Imagineer Jane Hytch has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Arts from Coventry University. The University have awarded Jane “for playing a crucial role in the development of arts and culture in Coventry over 30 years of professional work”.

Jane joined the Belgrade Theatre in the heart of Coventry as the Community Department Manager in 1990, before becoming an Associate Producer a few years later. Over her time at the theatre, she has delivered a host of significant events, including Coventry’s first community play, In Search of Cofa’s Tree, which formed part of the 50th anniversary of the Blitz commemoration that year.

In 2005, Jane and colleagues set up Imagineer Productions, an organisation dedicated to the creation and delivery of extraordinary outdoor and site-specific work. Through all her endeavours, Jane has helped bring millions of pounds in funding to the city.
