It is with huge sadness that we awake on a frosty morning to the sad news of the death of Jon Beedell of The Desperate Men.
Jon was one of the genuine lifetime achievers in the world of street theatre; a wry, funny, clever, maverick whose gruff exterior housed a hugely warm and generous heart.
Politically engaged and utterly committed to his work, he would rewrite the rules at every turn and, particularly in his longstanding double-act with Richard Headon, was an inspiration to so many.
Our warmest wishes to partner Phill and his children Lotte, Billy and Amy, as well as everyone who was lucky enough to know this uniquely talented clown and friend.
