Join acclaimed circus-theatre artist Sadiq Ali to explore how Chinese Pole and physical performance can tell powerful queer stories. The workshop focuses on blending movement, acrobatics and theatricality to bring to life narratives that are bold, personal and unapologetically queer.
Sadiq is known for his internationally toured work The Chosen Haram, which fuses Chinese Pole with spoken word and theatre to explore taboo and queer identity. He brings his distinctive approach to performance-making, encouraging participants to embrace risk, vulnerability and creative honesty.
No specific Chinese Pole experience is required, but you must be confident with physical work: climbing, moving, dropping, and expressing through the body. You’ll be creating your own sequences in collaboration with partners, blending strength, flow, and storytelling. Any questions about skill level and discipline? Drop us a line…
