Course Overview: 

This courseclarifies the distinction between freelancers and employee engagement and explains the laws that govern the employment relationship. As well as, the opportunity to examine good practice and management techniques to promote the well-being of staff. 

In the current sector-wide recruitment crisis, it will look at how the working world has changed and explore the adaptations to new ways of working and how to manage expectations and morale.  

This interactive course combines practical and legal materials with discussion, peer learning and problem-solving. 

By the end of the session, you will: 

– Understand the life cycle of the employment relationship from recruitment, through line management and appraisals to dismissals redundancy and exit interviews. 

- Understand how to use best practices and look after staff, fairly.

Trainer

Charlotte Jones is the Chief Executive of ITC. She trained as a lawyer and has many years of experience in negotiating contracts and representing ITC and its members to funders, supporters, politicians, the press and media, development agencies, and the wider creative and cultural sector.
