‘Creating Notre Dame de Paris’: An Intensive Theatrical Circus Course
A unique opportunity to participate in a two-week intensive training and performance experience! A combination of theatre, circus, clowning and dance workshops taking place at the magnificent heritage site, Woodchester Mansion, incorporating scenes and characters drawn from Victor Hugo’s Notre Dame de Paris.
This is a chance for individuals and artists wishing to further their practice in a Covid-19 secure environment and take advantage of the opportunity to immerse themselves in the wonderful world of performance and Victor Hugo’s tale in the stunning landscape and heritage building of Woodchester Mansion.We welcome you to choose one or more of the disciplines on offer, developing your skill and character over the course of 2 weeks.
What’s included?
- Daily group warm-ups and voice sessions
- Access to mansion site and grounds for practice and performance
- Dance, theatre (+physical theatre), music & circus workshops led by trained, professional facilitators with 10+ years experience in dance, theatre, film, costume, clowning, circus and storytelling.
- Specialist clowning workshops
- Aerial and tightrope workshops facilitated by School of Larks Circus School
- Stonemasonry workshop on gargoyles facilitated by the Stonemasons’ Guild of St. Stephen and St. George
- Tour of mansion and talk on the relationship between the mansion and Victor Hugo by Woodchester Mansion Trust
- Visiting specialist music and Dance facilitators
- Access to set, props and costume provided by NDP Circus
- Daily lunch
All participants need to have a level of conversational English and be aged 16 or over.
Price: £350 for two full weeks of training and public performance day.
