This practical workshop explores how circus skills can move beyond technique to communicate meaning. Led by Upswing’s Artistic Director, Vicki Dela Amedume, participants will investigate how the body can be used as a powerful storytelling tool, shifting the focus from “what we do” to “why we do it.”
Through guided exercises and creative exploration, artists will consider how intention, presence, physical choices and framing can shape the audience’s experience. Ideal for circus artists and physical performers, this workshop supports participants to deepen their creative voice, strengthen audience connection, and bring greater clarity and purpose to their performance work.
Participants are encouraged to bring a short piece of existing material to explore within the session.
