Same Difference Theatre

Walkabout and Shows for Families

Same Difference Arts CIC was founded in 2015 with a mission to create interactive, engaging outdoor theatre that brings people together through storytelling, spectacle, and participation.
Led by Natasha Glew, who has lived and worked in Bradford and Leeds since 2011, Same Difference began with just £100 and a big dream. Coming from a working-class background and without financial backing,

Natasha launched the company with determination, creativity, and a deep belief in the power of accessible theatre. Some might call it wacky — we call it passionate.

Since 2022, we’ve been proudly based at the Thornbury Centre in Bradford, where we’ve established Arts at the Thornbury Centre — a free and pay-as-you-feel programme of cultural events for the local community. And we’re just getting started — our plans for 2024–25 are bigger and bolder than ever.

Our ethos is simple: theatre should be inclusive, accessible, and fun. Using street theatre and interactive performance, we focus on creating experiences that families can enjoy together, regardless of background or barriers.

We’re now in Year 4 of a 5-year development plan with support from Arts Council England, working toward becoming a leading inclusive and accessible theatre company in the UK.
We’re proud to support a thriving network of over 80 freelance creatives across Bradford and West Yorkshire — including performers, directors, set designers, costume makers, and writers.

We regularly offer placements to emerging artists, and work closely with Bradford College, Leeds City College, and Mencap to create opportunities for people of all backgrounds and abilities.
Same Difference is now recognised as one of the leading theatre companies in Bradford for creating paid employment in the arts, and we’re committed to growing that impact even further.
