Celebrating Culture with a Difference, Producing Caribbean Carnival and Dance Events
Moving Souls Dance is an independent arts organisation / CiC that provides a range of services for artists, arts organisations and agencies, specialising in outdoor participatory arts and climate justice arts activism. We co-produce, we partner with arts organisations and offer professional and personal development to encourage career progression.
MSD co-produced some aspects of Route 34: Embracing Cultures project alongside Ace dance and music and North Birmingham Alliance (NBA) funded through Our Creative City and Birmingham City Council for the B2022 Festival as part of the Commonwealth Games. https://www.northbirminghamalliance.com/route34
MSD will be continuing to co-produce Carnival and dance participatory arts events during 2023 in Birmingham and the West Midlands, offering training and development for two diverse producers to support high profile events delivered by NBA and Ace dance and music this summer: http://movingsouls.dance/about-us/. MSD are continuing to work in partnership with Upland (visual arts agency in Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland) to deliver an artist in residence programme (Artful Migration) observing migratory birds flying to the Solway Estuary in partnership with FLS & RSPB. This will culminate in the first Conference for AM in October 2023 on the Crichton Estate, Dumfries bringing scientists and artists together to understand how this dialogue can help support and protect the flyways and habitats of these birds. https://www.weareupland.com/projects/artful-migration-residency-programme-2023
