Independent Director, Performer, Facilitator and Technician

Gwen Thomson is an experienced theatre/film maker having worked in the sector for 22 years.

She began her career as a sound engineer at Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester & Scottish Television before working in outdoor and indoor theatre and film as a director, performer, technical manager and dramaturge. She has been called the “theatrical Swiss army knife”.

Recent work includes directing circus/theatre company Cimera’s mid-scale, bilingual production of ‘Drudwen’, which toured Wales in 2019. She recently completed ‘Echdoe’ – a film for BBC cymru and Ffilm Cymru and is a creative agent for Arts Council of Wales – taking creativity into schools.

Gwen lives off-grid in North Wales with her young family and an enigmatic bunch of ducks.
