Dizzy O’Dare

Dizzy O’Dare (DOD) is a contemporary circus & theatre company established in 2009 by Alana Jones and Michael Imerson. They have created a diverse range of work, which has toured extensively, delighting audiences across the globe. The company aims to promote art and culture to areas with little access or engagement to great art while presenting work of the highest standard.

Company Directors:

Alana Jones (UK) is a dancer and tightwire artist graduating from Laban, London and National Centre for Circus Arts, London. Alana performs across the world and also manages events, cabarets and festivals working with a variety of artists and performers.

Michael Imerson (UK) trained as an actor before running away to join the circus. He has appeared in award-winning TV Dramas, award winning theatre and radio. In recent years he has moved into directing and devising, creating new work, which attempts to break the boundaries set by conventional theatre.

Current shows include:

• Falconry Dismay – Experience the breath-taking display of majestic Birds of Prey, featuring a range of birds including Vultures, Falcons and Owls. Lead by head falconer Kevin Tickle.
• Phileas Fogg: Day 79 – Join Phileas Fogg and Passepartout and they try to cross the finish line of their race around the world. Roaming show/ walkabout 
• The Giant Balloon Show – An hilarious one-man show pushing balloons to their extreme, featuring the all-important giant balloon.
• The Dodo Rider – Engaging walkabout with a giant Dodo!
