Vibrant Welsh Circus Cymraeg
Cimera are a contemporary circus, theatre and arts company founded in 2013. Like our namesake the dazzling hybrid of Greek Mythology we are a company of many parts. We bring together artists from diverse performance and design perspectives to create a powerful artistic voice for north Wales.
We work in Welsh and English.
We produce original works of street theatre, walkabout stilt characters, touring circus theatre productions, fire shows, arts engagement and education projects, community parades and lantern events, puppet shows, circus and interdisciplinary arts training and workshops for children and adults.
Our network of contacts, partners and artists stretches along the north Welsh coast, throughout Gwynedd and Anglesey down to Ceredigion and beyond.
We have created, designed and produced work for festivals, events, venues and companies, including Pontio, Bangor, Galeri Caernarfon, Venue Cymru, Arad Goch, Cwmni’r Fran Wen, Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru and Yr Urdd, Community Parades, Big Sexy Circus City- Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Mentrau Iaith Conwy and Fflint, Greenwood Forest Park, Green Man Festival and Gwynedd Council Children’s Services.
We have worked in partnership with other Arts organisations / Charities including Organised Kaos, Citrus Arts, NoFit State Circus, Theatr Genedlaethol and Anno’s Africa in Malawi and Kenya
Our bi-lingual circus theatre production Drudwen, funded by the Arts Council of Wales, toured nationally in 2019 to Pontio, Y Ffwrnes, Riverfront, Wales Millennium Centre, Venue Cymru and Aberystwyth Arts Centre.
