July 1982 and the BBC presented the final show at Arena North, Park Hall, Wigan when I purchased a number of games and props from the production team and hit the road with the first touring version of It’s a Knockout, ending with two units on the road as it proved so popular. Finally selling the show to Graham Fisher and moving on to a new venture.
‘The Crazy Bears’ show came to life with its first performance at Golden Square Shopping Centre and ran for nineteen years taking the mobile stage show to all corners of the UK, Ireland and even Kuwait.
In 2005 alongside presenting The Crazy Bears show, Acts & Attractions entertainment agency was born – specialising in outdoor entertainment, children’s entertainers and Celebrity appearances. One of my other business activities was requiring more attention and taking up a lot more of my time and I decided to close Acts & Attractions.
Today, that other business is still flourishing but these days with modern technology it tends to run itself and being involved with the outdoor entertainment business for so many years, I never lost interest in what was happing in the industry and decided to revive the agency with a new name as the old name is no longer available.
