The Wye Valley River Festival brings local people, environmentalists and exceptional artists together for a creative exploration and celebration of an internationally important landscape.
With the Wye Valley as our backdrop, this exceptional landscape, carved by the River Wye, straddling the border of England and Wales, encompasses diverse cultures, habitats, stories and histories.
Since 2014, our biennial Arts and environmental festival has welcomed people from both sides of the English and Welsh border and beyond; igniting conversations and sharing unforgettable experiences.
Creativity, Community, Ecology and the landscape are our bedrock; we are dedicated to dreaming up and delivering Inspirational Encounters in Outstanding Places.
We carefully build and co-create our programmes with residents, artists and environmentalists, those who live in or love the Wye – through ongoing collaboration, research and development. We continue to find imaginative ways to understand and interact with the landscape, ecology and cultural heritage of the Wye Valley region. A creative exploration of what is possible.
“It is a very inspiring and imaginative combination that makes you see the world in a different way.”
Over the years, the Festival has gained national recognition, attracting renowned artists and performers while celebrating local talent.
Our next main Festival is scheduled for May 1st to 10th May 2026 with ongoing community projects and engagement leading up to the events.
In addition to the biennial festival WVRF runs a year round programme of outreach and engagement with communities and organisations
