The Walk – Amal and the Giant Fairground Wheel [Lewisham]

In a celebratory event of welcome created with Lewisham, the London Borough of Culture 2022, Amal is welcomed to Lewisham where a giant fairground wheel has been erected in her honour.

There she will discover treasures from around the world in Deptford’s bustling street market, form friendships with the young people of Lewisham and celebrate the diversity of the borough, the first borough in the UK to be recognised as a borough of sanctuary.

In partnership with Lewisham Borough of Culture, Deptford X, Migration Museum, Deptford Lounge, Refugee Cafe, The Albany, Lewisham Refugee and Migrant Network, Lewisham Education Arts Network, Create Without Borders, and Lewisham Borough of Sanctuary.
