Walk the Plank, experts in outdoor celebration, thrilled us all with the first huge Festival finale in 2004 and we are delighted to welcome them back again to celebrate the last festival to be held at the Ruskin Glass Centre.
For this event Walk the Plank have taken inspiration from Ruskin’s Seven Lamps – representing the seven qualities that Ruskin felt should be applied to architectural practice – to create an evening of music, fire and intimate spectacle.
The centrepiece will be a huge fire sculpture by artist Felix Rowberry, In the Balance, its globes of flame depicting elements of today’s world as seen by children and young people. The evening will begin with live music from the Boat Band, and end with music created with musician in residence, James Watts, working with Brendan Murphy whose glass instruments have inspired a beautiful score.
Before the finale, please join us to share your wishes and hopes for the next twenty years…and then commit them to fire in a ritual act witnessed by all.
Please note – the car park will be closed for this event.
