Rhizome (Tom and Lien Dekyvere)

The light installation Rhizome by artists Tom and Lien Dekyvere explores togetherness and collaboration in contrast to nature and technology with mesmerising fluorescent ropes and LED lights during the festive period on Leicester’s Orton Square.

With hundreds of meters of suspended, illuminated rope creating a glowing, interconnected network overhead, forming an immersive cocoon, you can wander around and bathe in the softly glowing light.

The winter skies around the Cultural Quarter will be lit up by Rhizome: a glowing series of tall structures connected by gentle colour changing neon ropes, probing for unexpected connections, in search of the boundaries between nature and technology, from 18 November 2021 to 5 January 2022.
