Open Space 70 is an environmental arts project & festival, made by and for the people of Calderdale.
Between March and July community groups, individuals, environmental experts, professional artists, and first-time makers will work together to create art for Open Space 70 across all genres, through attendance at workshops and courses, as part of project groups and through independent creativity.
From Thursday 13 to Sunday 16 July enjoy a celebration of 70 exhibitions and installations, happenings, performances, workshops, talks and walks at spaces in and around Hebden Bridge, including a weekend Arts Trail and a free programme of family-friendly events.
Work in the Arts Trail has been created by local people, whether at one of our workshops or courses; independently; as part of our Allotment Art groups; by local school children; or made by our members of our nine Engaging Neighbourhoods community groups working with local artists and environmental experts.
An open exhibition of work at Northlight Art Studios, a selection of short film screenings, outdoor musical performances and an installation at the Hebden Bridge Bowling Club Pavilion are just some of the things you can look forward to as you choose which places on the Arts Trail map to visit over the weekend.
