Newport Live Act Fringe is produced by Tin Shed Theatre Co and supported by a number of the city’s most exciting independent venues and spaces. This year’s Live Act Fringe will take place across some amazing City Centre Venues.

The Public Theatre – A group of quirky, eccentric, and wonderfully whacky characters who are here to shine a light on the art and architecture in Newport which we often overlook when going about our busy lives. Catch this walkabout piece and meet our ensemble as they travel around the city centre. They’ll paint your portrait, guide you around their alternative art gallery or even use you as inspiration for their next masterpiece!
One in Three by Phoebe Baker – The piece is called ‘one in three’ as this is the statistic of women and girls who will experience violence in there life time. Introducing Creative Curations Artist in residence 2025! This piece explores my return to the highwire after trauma, navigating changed physicality and mindset. It delves into female empowerment, channeling anger at ongoing violence against women while celebrating circus as a rare art form that has long embraced women’s strength, autonomy, and the power to own their bodies.
