Godiva Festival is back and will be celebrating 25 years from 5 – 7 July in the stunning War Memorial Park, Coventry.
The Powerhouse Youth Zone is back!
Welcome to a festival zone of brilliant young Cov talent, innovation and creativity at the Godiva Festival 2024, presented by Imagineer and Media Mania. The Zone is also home to The Resonate Stage.
The Powerhouse Youth Zone includes a wealth of local and upcoming talent, a cycle-powered, steampunk carousel plus a six-metre-high Lady Godiva. Imagineer’s Transformations programme will present giant puppets with Autin Dance Theatre and live street art with the Grit Art collective.
You can head into the creative tent for denim-recycling-heaven (bring your old jeans) and don’t miss the ‘Phoenix Rising from the Trashes’. Take a breather in the PYZ wellbeing spaces from Sam Williams and Paul O’Donnell and get to know some of our amazing local youth service providers across the zone… and much, much more!
The Zone is home to Milesians – The Coming of the Gaels- a spectacular, magical, circus telling of an ancient myth rooted in Galicia and Ireland.
The mortal Gaels face the Tuatha Dé Danann, tribe of the gods, to determine Ireland’s fate. A compelling story told with heart, humour, magic and adventure using gravity-defying circus, physical theatre, acrobatics, dance and dynamic music.
You can see the show on Saturday 6 July at 5.30pm and Sunday 7 July at 5.00pm.
This outdoor spectacle from Circolumbia contemporary circus is created and directed by Felicity Simpson & Kathi Leahy, in association with Imagineer Productions, working with local Coventry artists and communities.
