The history of the Aurillac Festival is particularly unique in the French cultural landscape. Created in 1986 and deliberately located in a rural area, it has consistently established itself as one of the leading live performance events in France, a reference festival at the European and international levels in the field of street theater.
While opening its program to very different forms of expression, ÉCLAT has built strong and lasting relationships with street artists. In addition to the official program, which brings together about 20 companies, more than 600 visiting companies make the Aurillac Festival an exceptional event for artistic creation and dissemination.
Professional meetings, conferences, and public gatherings also contribute to these moments dedicated to creation.
The festival’s public success, bringing together more than 120,000 people over 4 days, has confirmed this achievement. It attracts a very diverse audience, spanning generations and all social classes.
