Just So is an annual, intimate, weekend-long festival – an imaginative outdoor family adventure like no other and the best family festival in the UK.
With a love of stories and childhood escapades at its heart, Just So Festival enables families to step out of their day to day lives and into a wonderland of world class literature, arts, theatre, dance, music, comedy and creative pursuits together.
Just So takes audiences (from bumps to great grandparents) on a unique expedition of mischief and mayhem, to lands full of magical midnight feasts, curious creatures, hidden retreats, top notch food, drink and boutique camping options and breathtaking beauty.
Impressive outdoor arts performances will wow audiences all weekend, including the enchanting Heliosphere in which an acrobat floats above the festival suspended beneath a giant helium balloon. Families can marvel at an aerial show performed on a colossal set of swings before having a go themselves, enjoy the feline-themed circus show Street Cat Strut, and put each other in the docks in hilarious improvised comedy This Is Your Trial.
Audiences can also enjoy physical theatre piece Look Mum, No Hands! by Daryl Beeton Productions & Mimbre, and dance duo SAY’s interactive dance show The Album: Skool Edition. And in a unique take on an escape room experience, families can free themselves from a giant locked treasure chest by solving puzzles and clues in the participatory interactive art installation Community Chest from Matthew Harrison.
Fatt Projects are turning the festival site into a dancefloor with their show Big Gay Disco Bike, featuring a tonne of glitter, confetti and power ballads, and Ghetto Fabulous invite the audience to pick a winner as four dancers go head to head in Family Catwalk Extavaganza. And a professional painter and amateur alchemist attempts to find the pinky-est pink in The Lost Colour by Half a String, a joyful explosion of colour with clowning, puppetry and paint.
