“It is with a heavy heart that we have to inform you that due to the effects of the Corona pandemic, the 34th International Kulturbörse Freiburg cannot take place as planned from 23 – 26 January 2022 live on-site in Freiburg and has to be cancelled. Currently, Baden-Württemberg is in the so-called “alert level II”. The stricter corona measures prescribed by the state government of Baden-Württemberg for this case, unfortunately, do not allow the IKF live on-site to be held successfully.
Artists and exhibitors from 25 countries had confirmed their attendance at the 34th IKF, and some of the visitors were also expected from neighbouring countries and other European countries. At present, more and more neighbouring countries and other countries are being designated as high-risk areas and the number of cases is also rising steadily in Germany. Under these conditions, the international character of the ICF can no longer be guaranteed.
The fact that the 34th IKF cannot be held live on-site is all the more painful because the 33rd IKF could not take place as a presence fair due to the pandemic. At the moment, however, it cannot be assumed that the situation will ease in the remaining six weeks until January 2022 in such a way that the holding of the IKF live on site can be guaranteed at the present time.
In order to give you at least an impression of what you could have discovered at the 34th IKF, we will – as planned – soon publish the programme of the 34th IKF with all information on the participating exhibitors and artists on our website.
At the moment we are frankly very sad, but we will not resign!
